PELLETS REDUCE EMISSIONS AND DECREASE COSTS

Switch to fossil-free with bioenergy

Domestic sources of heating energy improve their positions in Finnish heating every year. The reasons for this are simple; e.g. wood chips and pellets are renewable, environmentally friendly, domestic and economical energy sources, the transition to which reduces greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere. They meet the sustainable development requirements that are currently set for sources of heating energy.

Modern bio-heating is easy and highly automated, due to which the share of own labor in the use and maintenance of the heating system has been minimized. This development has also given birth to a new form of business, heat entrepreneurship, where a local entrepreneur sells heat produced with bioenergy to customers.

As a domestic source of energy, wood is part of Finnish heating. In its various forms, wood perfectly meets the criteria of a good energy source: wood is environmentally friendly and renewable, and it provides practically pollution-free energy.

Wood pellets are fossil-free domestic fuel

Fossil-free and climate-neutral wood pellets are a renewable source of bioenergy - the pellets are made from wood industry waste streams. Therefore, the production of pellets does not in itself reduce forest resources, but it makes utilization of the wood commissioned even more efficient. Wood pellets are a domestic, pure natural product that is made from the byproducts of sawmills and other mechanical wood industries. The pellet is compressed from sawdust, wood chippings, etc., into smooth cylinders. No chemical substances are used in the manufacturing process, but the binding agent is the wood's own lignin.

Pellet is an inexpensive and environmentally friendly fuel

The use of pellets reduces dependence on fossil fuels and has lower energy costs compared to fossil fuels. Pellets have low carbon dioxide emissions and a small overall carbon footprint. Emissions are reduced by 90 % when switching from oil to pellets. At the same time, there are significant savings in fuel costs, the cost saving compared to oil is more than 40 %.

Wood pellet as fuel

The burning of wood pellets, like firewood, wood chips, etc., is very clean and environmentally friendly. Of these, wood pellets stand out due to their higher calorific value and their structure, which is excellently suited for automatic dosing. The ash content of wood pellets is very low, only approx. 0.5 %. The pellet burns cleanly – as a wood-based fuel, it does not increase the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, and therefore does not contribute to the development of the greenhouse effect.

  • Wood pellets are renewable bioenergy
  • Pellet is dense and uniform fuel
  • Easy to handle, no dust
  • The humidity percentage is less than 10
  • Does not freeze or mold
  • The diameter of the pellet is 6 – 12 mm and the length is 10 – 30 mm
  • No chemical substances, the binding agent is the wood's own lignin.

Agropellet

Agropellet is, for example, a pellet pressed from field biomass, which can be used mixed with wood pellets and brings significant cost savings.

Plant-based agropellet is a significantly cheaper biofuel than wood pellets. With our devices specially designed for burning field waste, a proportion of 30 % of wood pellets in the fuel mixture is sufficient, which offers considerable savings in fuel costs.

Agropellet pressed from field waste is a challenging fuel, with ten times the amount of ash compared to wood pellets. During the years 2021–2023, we have developed a reliable combustion technology that manages the special requirements of high-ash fuel.

Chips are wood shavings

Wood chips are a domestic, ecological biofuel. The raw material for wood chips can be whole wood, logging waste or other wood waste. The quality of the wood chips is of great importance to the functionality of the equipment. Forest chips have the best properties in terms of energy use.

  • Wood chips are renewable energy
  • Wood chips are uniform quality fuel
  • Domestic
  • Ecological
  • Humidity percentage 20 – 35 %

Switch to fossil-free - easier than you think!

It is possible to replace many oil and gas-powered processes with environmentally friendly biofuels. We develop, design and manufacture bio-heating plants and combustion technology that make it possible to replace fossil fuels with bio-energy.
